Blink Twice: A Modern Display Font for Bold Branding

It was a quiet Tuesday morning when I opened my brand board and stared at the blank canvas, ready to bring a new café concept to life. The client wanted something fresh, something that would stand out in a crowded market. That’s when I first saw Blink Twice—a display font with a cool, modern, and assertive style that immediately caught my eye. It wasn’t just any font; it had a timeless edge that felt both contemporary and classic, like a well-worn leather jacket with a sleek finish.

Blink Twice on Café Logos and Brand Identity

I started by testing Blink Twice on a logo draft for the café, a cozy spot named “Morning Brew.” The bold, clean lines of the display font gave the logo an instant sense of confidence. It wasn’t too playful, but it wasn’t too serious either—just right for a place that served great coffee and welcomed everyone. I placed the font on a simple circle, using a deep navy background to make it pop. The result? A logo that felt instantly recognizable and professional.

As I moved through the brand identity, I used Blink Twice consistently across business cards, signage, and even their Instagram profile. It maintained a strong visual hierarchy without feeling overwhelming. The font’s distinct character helped reinforce the café’s personality—modern yet approachable, confident yet warm.

Blink Twice in Packaging Design and Product Labels

Next came the packaging design. The café sold custom mugs, and I needed a label that would stand out on store shelves. Blink Twice was the perfect choice for the mug labels. Its assertive style made each product feel unique, while its timeless appeal ensured it wouldn’t date quickly. I paired it with a minimalist sans serif font for the supporting text, which balanced the boldness of Blink Twice without overpowering it.

The result was a cohesive look across all packaging. Whether it was a latte cup or a branded t-shirt, Blink Twice brought consistency and professionalism to every item. It also helped create a clear brand recognition that customers could easily remember.

Blink Twice for Social Media Graphics and Website Headers

When designing social media graphics for the café, I leaned into Blink Twice as the headline font. On Instagram posts promoting new menu items, the display font commanded attention. Its modern and assertive style worked perfectly with bright, colorful visuals, making each post feel dynamic and engaging.

On the website header, Blink Twice became the hero typeface. It looked great against a dark background, and the subtle curves in the letterforms gave it a slightly human touch. This helped balance the boldness of the font with a friendly tone, which aligned with the café’s vibe.

Blink Twice in Print Materials and Marketing Flyers

I also used Blink Twice for print materials like flyers and posters. One of the standout moments was when I placed it on a poster for a weekend event. The display font stood out clearly from the rest of the content, guiding the viewer’s eye directly to the event name. It added a layer of sophistication that elevated the overall design.

For marketing flyers, I used Blink Twice as the main headline and paired it with a complementary script font for subheadings. The contrast between the two fonts created a nice visual rhythm, making the flyer more readable and visually appealing.

Blink Twice as a Commercial Font for Brand Consistency

One thing I noticed early on was how well Blink Twice worked as a commercial font. It offered enough variation in weights and styles to be used across different elements of the brand, from logos to supporting text. I checked the included alternates and ligatures, which added a nice level of detail to the typography without being overcomplicated.

The multilingual support was also a plus, especially since the café catered to a diverse audience. It made me feel confident that Blink Twice could handle the demands of a real-world branding project, not just a one-off design piece.

Blink Twice in Editorial Design and Creative Projects

Even outside of the café project, Blink Twice has found its way into other creative work. I’ve used it for editorial designs, such as magazine covers and blog headers, where the display font adds a modern flair without overshadowing the content. Its versatility makes it suitable for a wide range of projects, from small personal blogs to large-scale brand campaigns.

Pairing it with a serif font for body text has proven to be a winning combination. It creates a nice contrast that enhances readability while keeping the design visually interesting. It’s not just a font—it’s a tool that helps shape the mood and message of any design project.

Blink Twice and the Importance of Testing Before Committing

Before finalizing the brand system, I made sure to test Blink Twice thoroughly. I printed mockups, tested it on screens, and even asked a few friends for their opinions. It was important to see how the display font behaved under different conditions—on a shop sign, on a business card, on a website banner. Each time, it held up well, proving that it was a reliable choice for a full brand rollout.

Testing is always crucial when working with a font like Blink Twice. It ensures that the design feels consistent and that the font aligns with the brand’s personality. In this case, it did exactly that—and more.
